UMiTRA Students Prove Technopreneur Products with Swiss-Belhotel Lampung

BANDAR LAMPUNG (publiklampung.com) - UMiTRA students increasingly equipped themselves with startup capabilities based on technopreneur and partnership. That way, the results of their innovations can develop widely and benefit many people.
 

The combination of skills in technology and entrepreneurship is often referred to as technopreneurship.

Provisions are then given to students in youth empowerment activities organized by UMiTRA in collaboration with SwissBell-Hotel Lampung.

According to the head of the UMiTRA Student team, Agus Nugroho, students must be able to become Technopreneur. For example by opening a business making an application or Project. The project, named Siger Works, consists of Cici Handisha (Information Systems Study Program), Riki Hartanto (Information Technology Study Program) and Agus Nugroho (Informatics Study Program).

"Because we are in the faculty of computers, the prospect is to make more coding or program-based applications," Agus said representing the team when interviewed at the Lampung hotel, Saturday (8/24).

The student majoring in Informatics continued, in his campus environment, there were students who had started to become technopreneur by opening computer or laptop servicing services. There are also those who open technology consulting services, so the profits are evenly distributed.

According to him, now consumers really need a lot of technology service industries. And this is an IT student opportunity. However, being a technopreneur also has to deal with obstacles such as capital, place, and support from the government.

"Indonesia has become critical because it is not supported by the government. For example, Indonesian children who make animations are less supported by the government, including with funds," he said.

The supervisor, Arie Setya Putra., M.T.I emphasized the fact that technology is actually not complicated. He took the example, made this android-based application and could be used by Swiss-BelHotel Lampung (Download APK).

Arie also intends to implement the theory delivered in college so that it can be used by the business world. That way, the knowledge gained can have an impact on society.

"If you try it, we certainly can," said the lecturer who is currently studying this Doctor of Computer science.

Meanwhile, General Manager of Swissbell-hotel Lampung, Fauzi Firdaus, said that technology is needed to encourage business growth.

"I feel helped by the program created by UMiTRA students. And something like this is needed by the business world to develop its business. Hopefully what UMiTRA will do will be followed by other campuses," added Fauzi. (Agus / rls)
